David Beckham received a standing ovation at Old Trafford during Saturday’s UNICEF match – as he was replaced by son Brooklyn.

Legendary football names have taken to the Theatre of Dreams for the Match for Children between a Great Britain and Ireland XI and Rest of the World side.

The former England captain lined up alongside the likes of Jamie Carragher, Ryan Giggs and Michael Owen at Old Trafford, while Ronaldinho and Luis Figo were among the opponents.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti are the two managers.

Beckham had a role to play in the opener as he crossed for Paul Scholes to head home.
